Several new perfume fragrances are launched each and every year, and this can make finding the one that suits you best quite challenging. The truth is that the more you learn about women's perfume the easier it becomes to find those that smell wonderful on you. One important fact about women's perfume is that it always has three layers of fragrance notes. The top notes of a perfume only last for around five to ten minutes before fading. You should therefore give perfume fragrances a chance to settle before you judge whether you like them or not. The middle notes emerge after ten minutes. The base notes of a women's perfume become apparent after fifteen or twenty minutes, and they form the core or heart of the fragrance. Perfume fragrances can be divided into eleven different categories and these are floral, soft floral, floral oriental, soft oriental, oriental, woody oriental, mossy woods, dry woods, citrus, green and water. Each fragrance category has its own distinctive characteristics. Once you have learned which categories suit you best it is easier to choose the right women's perfume. For example I know from experience that the categories floral oriental, soft oriental, oriental and woody oriental tend to suit me. Conversely I do not generally suit perfume fragrances from the floral or soft floral groups.
